TF 2016 Day 3 [Evening] – A festival of International Performance Art & Noise Art

The Day 3 Evening of Tempting Failure CIC‘s #TF2016 returns to Theatre Utopia, Matthews Yard, Croydon.

Appearing in the programme this evening are:

Anne Bean [ZA/UK] and ‘5 Duets with Strangers’.
Duets with 5 Strangers is another strategy towards incising biopsies of consciousness, as Anne Bean continues to live work, to work live.

Nicola Hunter [UK] – Lost Bodies
This new performance is the first few breaths of a new life, with a new voice, in new flesh. In ‘Lost Bodies’- artist Nicola Hunter (formerly Canavan) will be celebrating loss as a strengthening process, a metamorphosis and a return to the wild.

Natalie Raven [UK] & Dagmar Schwitzgebel [DE] – Sackcloth & Ashes
Sackcloth and Ashes explores the complex relationship between religious ideology and the female body. It attempts to re-frame female lived experience, presenting emancipation through acts of strength, poise, compassion, and tenderness.

Becky O’Brien [UK] – Hera
This body based work explores the history of the female form in art, paying particular focus to Greek sculpture and the hero status associated with the nude form.

Alicia Radage [UK] – Extension Off Land
9 yarns of wool extending from an arsehole and a metal spike balancing above a head. Attached to the end of each piece of wool is a small mirror. Extension: Off Land exists in the body’s ability to host and birth whilst fighting against its actuality.

Some of these artworks are not suitable for those of a sensitive nature.
