The Living Free Collective Exhibition
November 4, 2016-December 31, 2016
The Living Free Collective is a group of creatives mainly based in South London. The heart of the collective is community. Grass roots. We believe in the freedom to express and exist without limits and the inclusion of all in society.
Our aim as a collective is to function as and represent the Living Free experience. For it to inspire. Inspiration has come from within. A number of the Croydon-born and bred artists have given themselves, and those around them belief that they can achieve anything against the odds. Each person in the collective, whether they are a visual artist, photographer, poet or performer, is a unique creative in their own right. What bonds us together is the energy and passion we have for our work.
The individual messages of each artist in one place symbolises the idea of co-existing together side-by-side harmoniously. This is something we are proud of. Perhaps the challenge for the audience is to absorb a broad range of creations and accept them as one. It may sound Utopian, but a vision doesn’t have to be compromised in order to fit in. We don’t believe in sanitised art.
We return to Matthew’s Yard, the place where it all began, for our end-of-year show and 1st birthday. We thank you for the infinite love. We are all in this together. Art for the people, by the people.
